Banwen bowed out of the cup being outscored by 4 tries to 3 by a more controlled and clinical team in Blackwood Stars. Flanker Andrew Jones, wing Andrew Burton and replacement No 8 Darren David scored tries for the home team. Fly half Dean Hughes converted all three and slotted over a solitary penalty. The visitors definately deserved their success and can look forward to a decent run in the cup, Banwen on the other hand can now concentrate on getting some valuable league points in Division 3 South West.
