No 8 Darren David crossed for two tries in this entertaining encounter in the land of the "mules". Prop Steve Lambert also crossed the whitewash in a pack performance of true promise. The home side sped to a 27-3 interval lead with some woeful defensive errors by the visiting team but a tentative half time team talk by coaches Dean Hughes and Paul Jones brought a new lease of life to visitors and when David scored his second of his tries Banwen had hit back to 27-20. In the final ten minutes both sides threw everything at each other but was the home side who romped in with two late tries to seal victory at the death.
